Sh*ck Reveal: Why Spyro Refuses Sm*king And Nud!ty In His Music Videos
According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian singer Spyro has revealed the strict personal and professional principles that guide his music career, particularly in relation to collaborations, video appearances, and the type of content he associates with.
Speaking during a recent interview on TVC, the artiste stated that he enforces firm boundaries on set, noting that he does not allow smoking or nudity in any music video he appears in. He also emphasized that he deliberately avoids working with artists whose projects promote themes he considers inappropriate or inconsistent with his values. Spyro maintained that these rules are non-negotiable and form a core part of how he selects partnerships in the industry.
The singer further explained that his standards extend to the music itself, adding that he declines features on songs he considers “unclean” or not aligned with his principles.
Referencing his collaboration with rising act Shoday on the track Sweet, Spyro explained that he once reached out to the artiste over what he described as the song’s promotional direction, during which he also encouraged him to embrace Christianity. He recalled that Shoday responded by advising him to focus on his own path while he follows his.
Spyro added that his approach to the entertainment industry is strongly influenced by his faith, expressing optimism that more entertainers would eventually align with Christian values. He described this shift as a gradual process, insisting that his participation in music is guided by his belief system and long-term spiritual conviction.
Known for popular songs such as Who Is Your Guy, Spyro continues to position himself as one of the more openly faith-driven voices in Nigeria’s mainstream music scene.
