The protesters stormed the secretariat on Saturday, placing palm fronds and a white coffin with the inscription “Adetimehin Must Go” at the entrance. The rally was sparked by Adetimehin’s controversial comments reportedly advocating for military intervention in Nigeria.

In an emergency meeting, the APC’s Executive Council in Ofosu Ward, Idanre Local Government, moved to suspend Adetimehin, accusing him of dangerous remarks that could destabilize the country. The suspension letter was signed by several council members, further escalating the crisis.

However, the APC’s Director of Publicity, Steve Otaloro, strongly rejected the suspension, labeling it “unconstitutional” and “a personal vendetta.” He reiterated that Adetimehin remains the legitimate chairman of the party in Ondo, dismissing the suspension as an unjustified attack on the leadership. Otaloro vowed to take disciplinary action against those responsible for this “breach of protocol.”
