The Three Musketeers of Edo Politics: Obaseki, Philip, And Ogie, Set for Epic Battle in 2024
Storyline By Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah
Once upon a time(time…time) , Governor Godwin Obaseki, Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, and Secretary to the State Government Osarodion Ogie showcase a remarkable level of political collaboration and synergy as they work hand in hand.
In a manner akin to the Three Musketeers, who demonstrated unity and camaraderie in their actions, these individuals exhibit a strong sense of teamwork, mutual support, and shared goals in their political endeavors.
Their ability to work together harmoniously enhances their political effectiveness, enabling them to leverage their collective strengths, insights, and expertise for the benefit of their political objectives.
Once united by a common vision and purpose, the political trio of Governor Godwin Obaseki, Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, and Secretary to the State Government Osarodion Ogie now finds themselves entangled in a web of discord and division.
As the story unfolds, the root cause of the trio’s disintegration becomes clear: conflicting political aspirations and hidden agendas. Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu’s growing desire to pursue his own gubernatorial bid creates a rift within the alliance.
His ambition for the top position clashes with Governor Godwin Obaseki’s plans, creating a power struggle and fostering resentment between them.
Simultaneously, rumors circulate regarding Secretary to the State Government Osarodion Ogie’s own gubernatorial ambitions. These whispers further fuel the growing tensions within the trio. The uncertainty and perceived betrayal from their closest allies contribute to a breakdown in trust and cooperation.
Governor Obaseki, aware of the brewing ambitions of his deputy and secretary, starts to guard his own interests and strategize for his political future. His focus shifts from the collective welfare of the state to securing his own position, further widening the divide between him and his former allies.
Let’s now discuss how each character may respond to the upcoming conflict between the Three Musketeers.
Governor Godwin Obaseki:
Also known as “Emanton 1” of Edo state politics, is a formidable force in the impending war. With calculated precision, he quietly fights, gradually building momentum before unleashing a relentless and heartless assault.
Like an iron crusher, Obaseki aims for total destruction, leaving no room for mercy. His opponents should brace themselves for an unyielding onslaught.
Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu;
The Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, is no easy target. He has assembled a group of formidable allies, the very mercenaries that Governor Obaseki relies on for his political leverage.
This impending war will resemble the Russia-Ukraine conflict, where Russia initially anticipated a swift victory over Ukraine, underestimating the resilience of the Ukrainian people and their comedian president.
Philip is not one to be underestimated. With his deep understanding of the streets and a tenacious spirit, he poses a significant challenge to Governor Obaseki. Similar to Ukraine’s resistance against Putin, Philip Shaibu will give Obaseki a tough fight, refusing to back down easily.
Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Osarodion Ogie.
SSG, Barrister Osarodion Ogie, embodies the essence of poise. Poise, defined as a state of composure, self-assurance, and gracefulness, perfectly characterizes Ogie’s demeanor and behavior. His focused and quiet approach in politics can easily perplex both the camps of Governor Obaseki and Deputy Governor Philip.
Despite his understated presence, Ogie should not be underestimated. His poised nature conceals a strategic mind and a firm determination. He navigates the political landscape with calculated precision, making him a formidable contender. In the impending war, Ogie’s opponents would do well not to overlook his influence and impact.
Based on our findings, the impending battle holds significant political implications that are likely to shape the future landscape in Edo State. As the battle intensifies, we can expect a shift in focus towards the Labour Party (LP) as the All Progressives Congress (APC) becomes constrained.
Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole currently exerts a strong influence over the APC due to his proven leadership and the belief in his capacity to lead. However, Philip Shaibu, who was once Oshiomhole’s student, may face resistance within the APC.
Philip’s actions are viewed by many as a greater betrayal to the party than even Obaseki’s previous attempts to diminish Oshiomhole’s influence. As a result, Philip Shaibu might consider seeking the ticket under the LP.
For Barrister Osarodion Ogie, the Secretary to the State Government, he may find himself in a battle with Philip once again within the LP. The party could serve as the most accessible platform for gaining electoral support.
As for Governor Godwin Obaseki, who prides himself as “Emanton,” he is likely to secure the ticket for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) but may face internal divisions that hinder his ability to withstand challenges from other political parties.
Allegations suggest that Obaseki has already begun dismantling structures associated with Philip Shaibu, even tampering with LGA chairmanship tickets in Edo North to remove Philip’s followers.
Edo residents should prepare for an intense battle ahead, as the political landscape of the state undergoes a significant transformation. This space will remain dedicated to providing breaking information on this unfolding story.
