The confidential memo reveals that a coalition of banditry syndicates is actively planning an assault on the Abuja-Kaduna train, with the intent of kidnapping passengers onboard for ransom in the near future.
Furthermore, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) high command has declared its commitment to resisting terrorist propaganda.
Responding to a video released by a terrorist group claiming responsibility for downing an NAF helicopter, NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet stated that while NAF does not typically engage with such claims, addressing the propaganda’s impact is crucial.
The spokesperson highlighted that military organizations involved in counterinsurgency and counter-terrorism operations occasionally face incidents of fatalities, mishaps, and crashes due to various reasons, especially during heightened air operations.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, emphasized that accident rates are linked to the intensity of air operations.
Despite the regrettable loss of lives, NAF is committed to investigating accidents to draw lessons and prevent future occurrences. The NAF cautioned against sharing graphic content of alleged crash sites, as it could negatively affect troop morale, the families of deceased personnel, and national security.
The NAF reaffirmed its determination to confront security challenges across Niger State and other troubled areas, demonstrating an unwavering resolve to overcome adversaries.
