BREAKING: APC Gives Wike Fresh Appointment (DETAILS)

On Tuesday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) announced the inclusion of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as a member of the party’s campaign council for the upcoming Bayelsa governorship election.

This decision by Nigeria’s ruling party was part of the establishment of campaign councils for the impending governorship elections in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo later this year.

The APC revealed that the National Chairman of the party, H. E. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, in consultation with the National Working Committee (NWC), approved the formation of the Bayelsa State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council.

The council’s main objective is to lead the gubernatorial campaign in Bayelsa State and secure a victory for the party in the forthcoming November 11, 2023, Governorship election.

Despite his recent appointment as a minister by President Bola Tinubu and his ongoing membership in the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nyesom Wike has been included in the campaign council by the APC. This inclusion comes after his disagreements with the PDP during the lead-up to the February presidential election.
