President Bola Tinubu Has Set Date For Nigeria’s Much-awaited Census? – Fact Emerge

The message titled “CENSUS EXERCISE TO BE CONDUCTED IN NOVEMBER 2023” was posted on Facebook in Nigeria on 14 August 2023, claiming that President Bola Ahmad Tinubu had instructed the national population commission to carry out the national population and housing census in November 2023.

The message further stated that the commission’s staff were prepared, and refresher training would be provided.

However, on 23 August 2023, the National Population Commission (NPC) refuted this claim. They clarified that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had not set a date for the upcoming Population and Housing Census in Nigeria. The commission emphasized that when a date for the census is determined, it will be officially announced through national media channels and on the NPC’s social media platforms and website.

This dispels the earlier message’s assertion, highlighting it as misinformation regarding the census exercise.
