In response to the opposition parties’ statements during an interview with The Punch, the Director of Publicity of the APC, Bala Ibrahim, characterized their remarks as an insult to the intelligence of Nigerians. Ibrahim argued that Tinubu deserved commendation for establishing the Federal Government Appointees’ Monitoring and Evaluation Unit in the Presidency to oversee officials’ performance.

He contended that the opposition was deliberately misinterpreting the president’s speech and suggested that they go back to school to enhance their command of the English language. Ibrahim stated, “I wouldn’t want to say they don’t understand English. But I want to say they are mischievous in understanding the content of the President’s speech.”

He emphasized that President Tinubu’s message was clear, expressing awareness of the people’s yearnings and aspirations. Ibrahim highlighted Tinubu’s commitment to addressing the nation’s challenges and promoting equal opportunities for all Nigerians engaged in legitimate businesses.
