Roadmap To 2023: Tinubu And His Unquenchable Brothers By Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah

He who has brothers has more than riches can buy- African proverb.

It is a known parable that knowledge is better than wealth, you have to look after wealth but knowledge looks after you. A man who has people behind him is richer than he who has money. Your people are like the roots they can never dry up and will forever remain a foundation for growth.

The race to the 2023 presidential election has gone beyond the first lap and headed towards the second lap, one amazing feature here is that the South-West Geo-political zone is seriously agitating for a return to power similar to how it was in 1999 that saw the political parties bearing its flagbearers from the  SW geo-political zone. It is called the South-West agenda.

The beauty of the agenda is that it is working in unison by all stakeholders from the South-West. The traditional rulers, clergies, the political class, business class and the artisans. There is this unquenchable thirst that power must return back to the region. High wired political meetings and alliances are currently ongoing in the zone.
From the look of things, the region is not ready to play the second fiddle in the next democratic dispensation.

Nigeria is presently at crossroads with insecurity seen as one of the major banes tormenting the nation. Many Nigerians are sceptical over the continued existence of the country. However, a failed nation that gives birth to failed nations would be worse than hell on Earth.

If Nigeria dissolves without extensive dialogue and peaceful resolution then be rest assured that none of the federating units that would spring up from a FAILED NIGERIA would be anywhere near a doomed and failed Nigeria combined. Even Afghanistan would sure be a better country.

It is imperative today that only a detribalized Nigerian with the required diplomacy and experience is needed to steer the leadership of the country, one who is firm, decisive and cerebral.

Tinubu has proven to be reliable when it comes to the unity of the country and has never positioned himself as a regional leader( NIGERIA does not need a leader with regional colouration), Tinubu’s cabinet when he served as the  Lagos State Governor was an attestation to this.

The South West has resolved to put in their best hands for the job and Tinubu happens to be the popular choice of the Yoruba’s. They see Tinubu as one who has the pedigree of commitment to the ideals of quality leadership and welfarist programmes.

To them the Jagaban should be supported by all well-meaning Nigerians, Afenifere leader Pa Fasoranti in blessing Tinubu’s ambition said “Tinubu has all it takes to rule Nigeria. Considering his activities and track record, he deserves to be President, come 2023. May his prayers be answered. When he gets there, he will do all we want,”.

The South-West is not willing to take chances and have resolved to unanimously support their own brother to succeed Buhari in 2023. They see it as a payback time for the struggle and sacrifices Tinubu has made for the APC.
According to them, it is time for the South West to take another shot at the presidency and  Tinubu remains the right man for the job.

They see him as a leader without blemish, one who is not sentimental and has strong networks across the globe.

“Tinubu is not only qualified but preferred by the vast majority of Nigerians irrespective of their political affiliations and the South West region of Nigeria cannot afford to lose the golden opportunity at its disposal”-Hon Rotimi Makinde.

What more can I say other than to conclude with these very words from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Those who want power in 2023 should study our Constitution and INEC Laws. Talk to their people and get ready for the election. Don’t be fooled, that’s the only way in a democracy. Troublemaking is a no go area……”
