Adamawa Agriculture Commissioner Passes Away In Abuja

According to Ireporter Online, the Adamawa State Commissioner for Agriculture, Professor David Jatau, has died following a brief illness.

He reportedly passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, in Abuja.

Before his death, Professor Jatau was widely recognized for spearheading key agricultural reforms in Adamawa State, with a focus on strengthening food security, boosting farm productivity, empowering rural farmers, and attracting investment into the state’s agricultural sector.

His passing has triggered an outpouring of tributes from government officials, political allies, farmers’ associations, and members of the academic community, who described him as a dedicated public servant, respected scholar, and strong advocate of sustainable agricultural development.

Reacting to the development, Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing it as a painful blow to the state.
