Arsene Wenger Names One Player He Wanted To Add To Arsenal’s Invincibles Team
Arsene Wenger has named Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo as one player he dreamed of having in Arsenal’s Invincibles side.
The Gunners famously went the entirety of the 2003/04 Premier League season unbeaten, the first and only time a side has managed this since the formation of the league in 1992.

Arsenal received an upgraded golden trophy at the end of the campaign with Wenger receiving high plaudits for his record-breaking team.
But now the Frenchman has stated there is one player he wishes he could have added to the Invincibles.
He told talkSPORT: “At that time it was Ronaldo, he played at Man Utd in 2004 and he’s one of the players I regret not signing because he was very close.”
The 72-year-old claims that the Gunners were interested in both Ronaldo and Lionel Messi during his spell in charge, but weren’t able to get either deal over the line.
Wenger has always stated that a move for Ronaldo was close though, with the Portuguese sensation even agreeing to talk business over dinner before snubbing a move to Arsenal in favour of Manchester United.
The breakdown of the transfer is something the Frenchman has regretted ever since.
