Akintola explained that there is a widespread misconception that popularity in Nollywood automatically translates to riches. She noted that earnings from movie platforms such as Africa Magic and similar outlets are far from sufficient to sustain luxury living or flashy lifestyles.

The actress further clarified that many entertainers who appear wealthy often have additional streams of income outside acting, a fact that is usually overlooked by the public. Drawing from her long experience in the industry, Akintola stated that many of the glamorous lifestyles displayed on social media cannot be justified by movie fees alone.
