Former ADC Reps Aspirant Dumps Party, Joins APC In Kebbi
Former House of Representatives aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State, Bashar Geda, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant political shift ahead of upcoming electoral activities in the state.
According to political reports, Geda, who previously contested to represent the Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo and Bunza Federal Constituency on the ADC platform, announced his defection on Saturday during a gathering in Birnin Kebbi attended by his supporters, APC members, party leaders and other stakeholders.
Addressing the audience, Geda explained that his decision to align with the APC was inspired by the leadership approach and developmental policies of Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris. He pledged his commitment to working closely with party members and contributing to the APC’s future political successes in the state.
The former ADC aspirant also assured supporters that he would dedicate his efforts to mobilising grassroots support for the governor and strengthening the party’s presence across Kebbi State. He stressed the importance of unity and collaboration among political actors, urging his followers to integrate with APC members in their respective communities and actively participate in advancing the party’s objectives.
Speaking at the event, Governor Idris welcomed Geda and his supporters into the APC, assuring them of equal opportunities within the party. He reiterated that the APC remains open to individuals willing to contribute to the development of Kebbi State and support the administration’s programmes.
Party officials present at the ceremony described Geda’s defection as a major boost to the APC, noting that his decision and the movement of his supporters reflect increasing confidence in the governor’s leadership. The event attracted party leaders, government officials, youth groups and supporters from various parts of the state.
