PRP Confirms Donald Duke As Presidential Candidate
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has officially confirmed former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, as the party’s duly elected presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
According to Ireporter Online, the decision was reached after the party reviewed the findings and recommendations of its Primaries Appeal Committee, which validated Duke’s emergence as the party’s flag bearer.
In a statement issued by the PRP National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq, the party affirmed that the appeal committee found the former governor’s nomination process to be credible and in line with its internal guidelines.
The committee also upheld the outcomes of four other primary elections while approving a total of 420 candidates seeking various elective positions ahead of the 2027 polls.
However, the party disclosed that the primary election conducted for the Tarauni Federal Constituency was nullified, making it the only exception among the cleared candidates.
Reaffirming its commitment to democratic principles, the PRP stated that it remains focused on promoting transparency, internal democracy, and quality leadership as it prepares for the forthcoming general elections.
The party emphasized its determination to play an active role in Nigeria’s electoral process while working towards delivering credible and transformative leadership for the country.
