JUST IN: Banks Collect Old N500, N1000 Notes
Customers’ old N500 and N1,000 notes were still being collected by Deposit Money Banks this morning.
This contradicts the Central Bank of Nigeria’s statement that it did not direct banks to collect the old N5,000 and N1,000 notes from customers.

GTB, First Bank, Fidelity Bank, and Sterling Bank are among the banks collecting old notes.
In addition, contrary to the CBN statement, the CBN Cash Return Portal directed people with old N500 and N1,000 notes worth less than N500,000 to go to their bank to make the deposit.
