It’s Nigeria’s Weakness To Allow Ekweremadu Serve Jail Term In UK – Adamu Garba

Adamu Garba, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has claimed that Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s imprisonment in a foreign country is the result of the Nigerian system’s flaws and the “stenches of colonialism.”

Garba questioned why a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would be sentenced to prison in a foreign country, wondering if the US, UK, or any other European country would allow such a thing.

The APC Chieftains’ claims are contained in a statement on his verified Twitter handle.

He wrote, “If not for the weakness of our system and stenches of colonialism, how can a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ike Ekweremadu serve a jail term in the foreign land?

”Would America, the UK or any European country allow that?

”No matter the offence, he deserves to be repatriated back to Nigeria, face Nigeria court and be sanctioned by the Nigeria law.

”I see this as an assault on our sovereignty, laws and the status of our statehood in the international sphere.”
