Scheduled to take place at the Edo State Library, Edo State Secretariat Complex along Sapele Road, Benin City, from February 23rd to March 3rd, 2024, the 200-hour Read-A-Thon promises to be a remarkable event. Osariemen has curated a selection of books that delve into Benin history, cultural heritage, migration, human trafficking, and climate change, aiming to engage and educate participants and spectators alike.

Supported by the Edo State Government, led by Governor Godwin Obaseki, who generously donated Ten Million Naira to her foundation, Osariemen’s Read-A-Thon has garnered significant backing from various quarters. The Edo State First Lady, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, and government officials including Dr. Uyi Jennifer Oduwa-Malaka and Dr. Joan Osa-Oviawe have lent their support to the initiative, recognizing its alignment with their efforts to promote education and cultural preservation.

Engr. Greg Ogbeifun, MD/CEO of Starz Marine and Engineering Limited, has also thrown his weight behind Osariemen’s endeavor, reflecting the widespread community support for literacy initiatives and educational development.
