However, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, fired back on social media. He said Ndume failed to mention that two people from his own community had just been appointed to top positions at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), including the Chairman, who is from Ndume’s senatorial district.

Onanuga accused the senator of ignoring facts and chasing headlines. He described Ndume as someone who often makes shallow criticisms without checking the truth.

He wrote:

> “Ndume’s latest rant about so-called ‘lopsided appointments’ is filled with hypocrisy. While acting as a voice for fairness, he didn’t say that two of his own people were appointed by President Tinubu to key roles in NNPC.”

He added that President Tinubu remains committed to building a government that includes all Nigerians, no matter their tribe or region, and that all appointments are based on merit, not ethnic politics.

Onanuga concluded by advising Ndume to stop spreading false claims and instead focus on making constructive contributions to national conversations.
