The Dangote Group has expressed profound grief over the passing of Ruth Otabor, who sustained injuries in a recent accident involving one of the company’s trucks in Auchi, Edo State.

In a statement released on Sunday, the company extended its heartfelt condolences to Ruth’s family and assured that it is committed to strengthening its safety protocols.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Ruth Otabor, following the unfortunate road accident in Auchi, Edo State, involving one of our trucks. On behalf of everyone at the Dangote Group, we offer our sincere sympathies to her family, friends, and loved ones during this painful period,” the statement read.

Medical Support and Assistance to Family

The Group explained that from the time of the incident, its officials and insurance partners had taken full responsibility for Ruth’s medical treatment and related expenses, while also providing support to her family.

It further disclosed that arrangements had been finalized to transfer her to India for advanced treatment, subject to medical clearance.

“Tragically, despite all efforts and Ruth’s courageous battle, we lost her today,” the statement noted.

Reaffirming its commitment to safety and compassion, the company pledged to intensify preventive measures to avoid future tragedies.

“At Dangote Group, safety, accountability, and compassion are central to our values. We will continue to strengthen our safety systems while standing by those affected in times of tragedy. May Ruth’s soul rest in peace,” the statement concluded.
