According to Ireporter Online, former Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Thelma Lawson, has publicly explained her decision to reject a romantic proposal from fellow contestant Rooboy during their time on the reality show.

Speaking during the final episode of the BBNaija reunion aired on Friday night, Lawson stated that Rooboy does not align with the kind of man she envisions around her son. She explained that her decision was influenced by several factors, including his tattoos, loud personality, and occupation as a hypeman, which she believes do not reflect the values she wants for a role model in her child’s life.

She further criticized his communication skills, claiming he struggled with spelling and overall presentation, adding that while she has no personal grudge against him, a romantic relationship between them would not work. Lawson emphasized that they could remain on friendly terms, but nothing beyond that.

She was quoted as saying that Rooboy’s lifestyle and demeanor did not meet her expectations, reiterating her stance that she prefers to keep their relationship strictly platonic.

In response, Rooboy confirmed that he did express romantic interest in Thelma during the show but denied being upset over her rejection. He explained that he initially spoke to fellow housemate Otega in confidence, unaware of the situation involving Thelma.
