Drama In Owo As Security Operatives Stop Armed Kidnappers From Seizing Pastor

According to Ireporter Online, a gun battle erupted on Sunday night in Owo, Ondo State, after armed kidnappers attempted to abduct the Chairman of Ojana New Area, Pastor Taiwo Taiwo.

The incident reportedly occurred around 7:05 p.m. when a six-man kidnapping gang stormed the cleric’s residence with the intention of whisking him away. A distress call was said to have been swiftly placed to the police, prompting a rapid response from operatives of the Ondo State Police Command.

Upon arrival, officers led by the Divisional Police Officer of B Division, Owo, reportedly engaged the attackers in a fierce exchange of gunfire. The confrontation forced the armed suspects to abandon their mission and flee into nearby bush paths.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the development in an official statement, noting that the operatives’ swift tactical response ensured the successful rescue of the pastor and his family members, who were found unharmed.

He further stated that the rescued victims were relocated to a more secure environment for enhanced protection, while efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects.
