Edo South :  APC Youths Condemns Lawrence Okah’s Purported Endorsement Of Lucky Imasuen, Calls On Party To Uphold Fairness

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT!

Very distinguished party faithfuls of the APC Family and our highly valued general public.

You may have seen a recent video on the social media revealing the State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Engr Lawrence Okah, calling on delegates to support and nominate a particular candidate, Mr. Lucky Imasuen, an act which is viewed detrimental and undemocratic to the espoused tenets of fairplay and expectations as an unbiased umpire of his exalted office.

While it is the undeniable right of Engr. Lawrence Okah to support any aspirant of his choice, the act of going about his preference with the claim that he is acting on the directives of the party hierarchy is highly scandalous, undemocratic and tantamount to stirring divisiveness amongst the APC membership, especially on the heels of lacking any proof of such unwarranted claims of acting at the behest of Edo South APC party hierarchy

Therefore, we wish to tender our disassociation and unreserved condemnation of the undemocratic action of Engr Okah, the State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, who was recently caught on camera calling on concerned delegates to support and norminate one of the aspirants, Mr. Lucky Imasuen, who is currently aspiring as a candidate of the APC for the Edo South Senatorial Seat.

Specifically, the said condemnable act of falsehood peddling was caught on camera, Wednesday, 11th May 2022 when Lucky Imasuen and his campaign train visited the Edo State APC Secretariat in pursuit of his political quest.

It is necessary that the act is condemned and disclaimed by all true lovers of democracy, all well meaning members and supporters of our dear party, the APC.

As we march towards a forthcoming Presidential, National and State Assembly elections, it is expected that we build and encourage such resolve which can enable our party approach any contest as a unified and solid house.

Going forward, owing to the sensitive office of Edo State APC Secretary presently occupied by Engr Okah, he should be advised to be more of a trust worthy umpire and a Sterling example of the APC membership.

Currently, Engr Okah’s action of refusal to stay above board is causing disaffection amongst party faithfuls and a great disservice to the cherished values of our great party.

We are therefore calling on all concerned to timely call Engr Okah to order and request his public denouncing and retraction of all past statements emanating from him and purporting the Edo South party hierarchy as his ally in his skewed misinformation.

Edo State APC is supposed to be building cohesion which is deviod of any attribute capable diminishing our collective will and political investments toward wresting power from the opposition party in Edo State.

While we look forward to a free and fair party primaries and other subsequent elections, we are pertinently resolved to condemning and eschewing practices and values capable of dampening our hard earned political gains.
