According to Ireporter Online, the Presidency has called for legal action against social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), over the circulation of an alleged fake audio recording purportedly linked to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made the call in a post shared on , where he accused VDM of spreading false content online and engaging in what he described as a serious abuse of social media platforms. He stressed that the influencer should be made to face the full weight of the law for allegedly disseminating the controversial audio.

Onanuga was responding to comments from an user identified as Aneex, who questioned the authenticity of the viral recording and dismissed it as propaganda aimed at misleading the public. The user further alleged that VDM was exploiting public sentiment to push misinformation across social media spaces.

In a related development, former Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has reportedly lost access to her Instagram account. This comes amid an ongoing online dispute involving her and VDM, during which she accused him of manipulating public opinion against her following claims that she rejected his alleged sexual advances.

VeryDarkMan, however, denied the allegations, insisting that it is normal for adults to seek consent in such matters and demanding evidence to support the claims. Phyna later shared alleged WhatsApp conversations between them on her social media page as part of her response to the controversy.
