I Was Wrong” — Phyna Apologises For Calling Police Officers ‘Kidnappers
Reality TV star and former Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has retracted her earlier claim in which she described the men who arrested her cameraman as kidnappers, clarifying that they were officers of the Nigerian Police Force carrying out their official duties.
According to Ireporter Online, Phyna made the clarification in a statement shared via her social media platforms following widespread reactions triggered by an earlier video she posted online.
She explained that she later discovered the officers had conducted a search on her cameraman and reportedly found a substance suspected to be a crusher in his bag. She further alleged that a partly smoked substance believed to be cannabis was also discovered in his pocket, which subsequently led to his arrest.
The reality TV star noted that the situation has since been resolved and admitted that her initial characterization of the officers was incorrect. She appealed to the public to disregard her earlier statement, acknowledging that she was wrong to have referred to the police officers as kidnappers.
Phyna was quoted as saying, “The group of men who I initially called kidnappers are actually Nigerian police force and they arrested my cameraman because he was in the possession of weed.”
In a separate development, Phyna also revealed her intention to become a mother in the coming months, stating that it is one of her key personal goals before the end of the year and early next year.
