According to IReporter Online, actress Tonto Dikeh has cautioned against allowing public opinion to define personal worth or influence life decisions, describing the pursuit of public validation as a “thief of destinies.”

In a social media post, the actress noted that many individuals delay or derail their goals by prioritising acceptance over purpose, warning that the constant need for approval often exposes people to societal pressure and fear of criticism.

She explained that instead of pursuing their true vision, many end up abandoning dreams, concealing their talents, and missing opportunities in a bid to conform to expectations and trends.

Dikeh stressed that fulfilment comes from self-awareness and commitment to purpose, even in the absence of public applause, adding that public opinion is temporary while destiny remains permanent. She further stated that true greatness often requires choosing conviction over popularity.

She urged individuals not to allow applause or criticism to overpower their sense of direction, emphasizing that public validation can become destructive when it dictates one’s life choices.

In her words, she described public validation as “dangerous when people allow the opinions, applause, or approval of others to determine their worth and direction in life,” adding that many destinies have been delayed or destroyed due to misplaced priorities.

She concluded that those who achieve greatness are often those who remain committed to purpose regardless of external approval, insisting that “never let the applause or criticism of people become louder than the voice of your purpose.”
