Sh*ck As Rivers United Team Bus Is Involved In Accident

Rivers United have confirmed that several players and club officials sustained minor injuries after the team’s bus was involved in a road traffic accident while travelling for their President Federation Cup Round of 16 encounter against Nasarawa United.

According to reports monitored by Ireporter Online, the incident occurred on Thursday along the Obiri-Ikwerre Airport Road on the outskirts of Port Harcourt shortly after the team departed its camp en route to Awka, Anambra State, where the crucial fixture is scheduled to take place.

In an official statement, the Nigeria Premier Football League side reassured supporters and stakeholders that no fatalities or life-threatening injuries were recorded. The club disclosed that some members of the travelling contingent suffered minor injuries and are currently receiving medical attention, with all affected individuals reported to be in stable condition.

Rivers United emphasized that the safety and welfare of its players and officials remain a top priority, while expressing appreciation for the outpouring of concern, prayers and goodwill messages from supporters and members of the football community following news of the accident.
