Management Confirms Fire Incident At Senate Building – LASU
The administration of Lagos State University (LASU) has confirmed that a minor fire broke out on the 4th floor of the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building on Friday, December 9, 2022.
However, contrary to what has been reported in some newspapers and online platforms, the incident’s impact was minimal and well-managed.

The fire started in the inverter room next to the Directorate of Internal Audit, Property Management Unit and only affected a few offices of the Internal Audit at the Directorate of Internal Audit wing at the Senate Building.
Fashola Aderemi, the Coordinator of the Centre for Information, Press, and Public Relations (CIPPR), confirmed the incident in a statement issued Saturday morning.
The release, on the other hand, dismissed the overblown and unverified reports of the minor incident by some overzealous reporters on various news platforms.
Aside from that, LASU Management has expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Fire Service, which responded quickly to the University Management’s request to put out the fire.
There were no casualties reported, and the scene of the incident has since returned to normal.
