Bauchi SSG Submits His Resignation

on Friday through a statement issued by Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.

Gidado confirmed that the governor swiftly accepted Kashim’s resignation.

In the interim, Dr. Aminu Hassan Gamawa, the Chief of Staff to the Government House, has been appointed to assume Kashim’s responsibilities in an acting capacity.

Governor Bala expressed gratitude to Barrister Kashim for his service to the state during his tenure as SSG.

“The Governor, on behalf of the government and the people of Bauchi State, appreciated him for his contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors,” the statement noted.

In a related development, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State has suspended Habibu Umar, the member representing Kirfi local government in the state House of Assembly, due to alleged connections with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

An insider informed Punch that Umar’s suspension stemmed from claims of alliance with Wike. However, a letter addressed to the state House of Assembly speaker, Abubakar Sulaiman, indicated that Umar was suspended for allegedly being insubordinate.

The letter, signed by the party’s state chairman, Sama’ila Burga, stated that Umar was found guilty after an investigation by a Disciplinary Committee. He has been prohibited from engaging in any party activities effective November 25, 2024, pending any further developments from the party.
