Buhari Unveils Development Projects In Kogi, Says $400m Committed To Ajaokuta Steel Company
On Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari dedicated the Multi Million Naira Reference Hospital in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The President also commissioned the new Palace of Ohinoyi of Ebira Land in Okene, the first-ever Fly-over Bridge at Ganaja Junction Lokoja, the Lokoja Civic Centre, now known as Muhammadu Buhari Square, the GYB Model Science Secondary School Adankolo Lokoja, ambulances and special security vehicles, the Okene-Agasa-Ogbogoro road, and other township roads in Okene.
President Buhari commended Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, for delivering the electioneering campaign promises.
President Buhari praised the Kogi State All Progressives Congress (APC) for complementing the efforts of the Bello-led administration.
Concerning the resuscitation of the Ajaokuta Steel Company, the president stated that the Federal Government has committed approximately $400 million to allow the Ajaokuta Steel Company to resume operations.
President Buhari stated that progress was being made on his administration’s ongoing Ajaokuta-Abuja-Kaduna, AAK gas pipeline project.
Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya Bello, the government, and the people of Kogi State have expressed heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for his official visit to the state and the commissioning of the Legacy Projects.
The president was ushered into a town hall meeting by stakeholders in the hall, who gave him a standing ovation.
Governor Bello stated at the Town Hall meeting that Thursday’s commissioning was very historic for the people of Kogi State, particularly Ebiraland.
“We are determined to fulfil all the electioneering promises to the people of the State. That is why I followed President Muhammadu Buhari’s lead. “With the litany of projects across Kogi State, all of your support has worked the magic in Kogi State,” he said.
His Royal Majesty, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr Ado Ibrahim, welcomed President Muhammadu Buhari to Kogi State.
The Monarch, represented by the Ohi Okengwe, HRH Alhaji Tijani Mohammed Anage, thanked President Buhari for his support and encouragement to the State governor.
