Engr. Moses Omo-Ikirodah Shall Key Willing And Deserving Constituents Into The Anchor Borrowers Programme, If Elected
It is very true that not all leaders have the interest of their people at heart, and this is why those enthroned through the ballot at various levels could be in the corridors of power for close to a decade without attracting any meaningful development to their people.
While other lawmakers have over the years been empowering their constituents through the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme, which according to official statistics has reached over Over 4.8 million farmers drawn from across the six geopolitical zones, it is verifiably on records that no farmer from our dear Etsako federal constituency has benefited, simply because of the leadership failure which has enveloped us as a people.
The Anchor Borrowers Programme is a federal government initiative, which was launched in November 2015 to boost agricultural production across Nigeria to boost production of 23 agricultural commodities in the country, including maize, rice, oil palm, cocoa, cotton, cassava, tomato, and livestock. Today, rice production in Nigeria has increased to over 7.5 million metric tonnes annually.
Etsako federal constituency which is blessed with arable lands for the cultivation of these crops have not benefitted from this initiative which is now making farmers’ kings’ due to leadership failure by the ruling All Progressives Congress( APC), and its non performing political office holders, and the time is ripe for us to say ‘ Never again’ as we collectively support and enthrone Engr. Moses Omo-Ikirodah of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), for a better Etsako federal constituency.
He has the integrity and capacity to attract the Anchor Borrowers Programme to all willing and deserving sons and daughters of our dear Etsako federal constituency, if given the instrumentality of government to represent the good people of Etsako federal constituency at the National Assembly as a lawmaker, come 2023.
Achieving the above is by no means a rocket science, it takes a man with a strong political will, capacity, robust intellectual property and above all, the fear of God to realize. Under this initiative, loans are disbursed to the beneficiary farmers through Deposit Money Banks (DMBs), Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and Microfinance Banks (MFBs), which the programme recognises as Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs).
According to the guidelines of the programme, upon harvest, the farmer repays their loans by taking their harvest to ‘anchors’ who pay the cash equivalent to the farmer’s account. It means that, you as a farmer do not need to bother yourself about selling the farm produce as there are buyers already waiting for the farm produce.
Vote Engr. Moses Omo-Ikirodah of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), for a better Etsako federal constituency.
Together, We Can.
