Fayose Blasts Makinde: “He Has Destroyed All PDP Structures In South-West

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has accused Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, of undermining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and weakening its structures across the South-West. According to Ireporter Online, Fayose claimed that Makinde had seized key positions in Oyo State, sidelining party loyalists who contributed to his rise to power.

Almost everybody who worked for his ascension has been driven away,” Fayose said in an interview with TVC. He further alleged that Makinde’s leadership had dismantled the PDP’s political infrastructure in the region, creating disaffection among party members.

Fayose also questioned the integrity of the PDP’s candidate selection processes, citing Osun State as an example. “A candidate who did not even obtain a PDP form eventually became the candidate,” he claimed.

Speaking about a personal incident, Fayose alleged that Makinde orchestrated an attack against him during a political event in Osun, describing the Oyo governor as “a small boy” politically.

Despite his strong criticisms, Fayose affirmed his loyalty to the PDP and to Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, stating, “I’m a Wike person. Anywhere Wike is, that is where I am.” He also ruled out any plans to defect to the APC.

Reflecting on his political career, Fayose emphasized his independence, noting that he won his governorship without a godfather and continues to identify as an elder statesman within the party.
