Former NNPP Chairman Lands Top DLA Role In Osun

The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has appointed former Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Odeyemi Tosin, as the Acting Chairman of its Osun State chapter with immediate effect.

According to Ireporter Online, the appointment was contained in a letter dated July 17, 2026, and signed by the party’s National Chairman, Barr. Samuel M. Memeh. The decision followed the approval of the party’s National Executive Committee and was made in accordance with the provisions of the DLA Constitution, which empowers the National Chairman and the National Working Committee to make such appointments.

The party stated that Tosin would oversee the affairs of the Osun chapter until substantive state executives are elected through a congress. It also confirmed that a copy of the appointment letter had been forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

As Acting Chairman, Tosin has been tasked with building and strengthening the party’s structures across the state, ensuring adherence to the party’s constitution and guiding principles, and providing regular reports on the progress and activities of the Osun chapter to the National Working Committee.

The appointment, the party explained, will remain in effect at the discretion of the National Working Committee and may be reviewed after the election of substantive executives or in the event of any breach of the party’s constitution or directives.

The DLA noted that the move is part of its broader strategy to reposition the party and deepen its grassroots presence across Osun State ahead of future political activities and elections.

Reacting to his appointment, Tosin expressed appreciation to the party’s leadership for the confidence placed in him, describing the new role as a call to service. He pledged to rebuild, unite and expand the party’s structures across all 30 local government areas of Osun State while assuring members that the chapter would be run with transparency, discipline and integrity.

He also called on party members and stakeholders to support the new leadership as it works towards strengthening the DLA’s presence and influence in the state.
