This assertion was made by the President of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Sadiq Abubakar, during an investigative hearing held by the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Solid Minerals, Industry, Commerce, and Special Duties.
The committee, chaired by Gaza Gbewfi, summoned the Chairman of the Cement Producers Association of Nigeria, David Iweta, for questioning after he failed to attend the hearing and previously ignored two invitations.

Gbewfi criticized the FCCPC representative, Boladale Adeyinka, for inadequate consumer protection efforts, likening the agency to “a mother that has forgotten her children.
