This strategic move follows the recent promotion of 14 Deputy Commissioners of Police to the rank of Commissioners, signaling a shift in leadership across various commands. Additionally, CP Beneth Igwe returns to the Federal Capital Territory Command as the Commissioner in charge, emphasizing continuity and experience.

Abaniwonda Surajudeen Olufemi, who served in the CP Force Secretary’s office, has been assigned to Delta State Command. Ademola Waheed Ayilara, formerly with the State CID Lagos Command, now takes the helm at the Akwa Ibom State Command.

Other notable appointments include David Iloyanomon, who previously served as DCP Administration in Anambra State and is now entrusted with leading the Taraba State Command. Abayomi Oladipo Peter assumes command in Ondo State, while Hassan Abdu Yabnet takes on the role of CP for Plateau State Command.

The PSC Chairman, Solomon Arase, a retired Inspector General of Police, conveyed the importance of rebuilding public trust through robust partnerships with the community. He underscored the need for effective and efficient leadership, warning that the Commission would not accept any excuses for failure in this regard. This strategic restructuring aims to enhance the overall effectiveness of law enforcement and foster public confidence in policing.
