Tinubu Reaffirms Support for Key Infrastructure Projects in Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has restated his administration’s commitment to advancing transformative infrastructure projects that directly improve the lives of residents within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Speaking through Vice President Kashim Shettima at the commissioning of the newly completed Collector Road CN-8 (Asuquo Okon Street) and its connecting roads in Dakibiyu District, Tinubu emphasized that the federal government would continue to back initiatives that promote inclusive urban growth.

The newly constructed road links Arterial Road N-5 (Obafemi Awolowo Way) in Jabi to Arterial Road N-1 (Olusegun Obasanjo Way) in Dakibiyu, a development expected to ease traffic flow and boost economic activity in the area.

Commending the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for his speed and commitment to executing infrastructure projects, Tinubu said the administration’s aim was to ensure that development reaches all communities, without discrimination.

“The capital of this nation must reflect the strength and dignity of everyone who lives here. We are determined to ensure that governance does not discriminate and that no citizen’s worth is determined by geography,” he said.

The President assured that his administration would continue to provide the necessary resources, policies, and institutional support to deliver more high-standard projects on schedule.

He noted that Abuja’s transformation stands as a testament to serious governance and visionary leadership.

“When roads are built, lights come on, and traffic flows smoothly, it tells the world that the government is not just present but purposeful. Infrastructure is more than concrete and steel—it is the strongest evidence of leadership and order,” he added.

Tinubu further explained that infrastructure upgrades would directly impact communities long overlooked, bringing development closer to residents of Dakibiyu and beyond.

“Communities will flourish, markets will thrive, children will get to school quicker, and emergency services will respond faster. This is what we mean by Renewed Hope—policies that translate into real progress,” he said.

In his remarks, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike expressed gratitude to Tinubu and members of the Federal Executive Council for approving the project, which began in October 2024. He stressed that the intervention was crucial due to the deteriorated state of the road, which serves several key institutions.

The Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, also described the Dakibiyu project as proof of the Tinubu administration’s dedication to sustainable urban development and inclusivity.
