FG Delegation, Dangote, Top Emirs Attend Aminu Dantata’s Burial in Madinah

Nigerian billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Aminu Dantata, who died on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has been laid to rest in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

Naija News gathered that funeral prayers (Janazah) were offered for the late elder statesman after the Maghrib prayer at the Prophet’s Mosque on Tuesday. His remains were then interred at the revered Al-Baqi Cemetery, in accordance with Islamic rites.

A high-level Federal Government delegation led by the Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, was present to pay final respects. The delegation, which departed Nigeria on Sunday and arrived in Madinah on Monday, also included the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; Minister of State for Housing, Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata; and the Director of Internal Security at the Office of the National Security Adviser, Hassan Abdullahi.

The late patriarch’s son, Tajudeen Dantata, and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote—who is also his nephew—were among the family members who accompanied the body to Saudi Arabia.

Prominent Nigerians who attended the burial included Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin; former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf; and Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi.

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, along with his predecessor, Aminu Ado Bayero, were also in attendance, highlighting the immense respect Dantata commanded within traditional and religious circles.

Top Islamic scholars such as Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad—the Imam of Dantata Mosque in Abuja—were present to offer spiritual support during the final rites.
