Tijani made the announcement through a tweet on Thursday, confirming that his appointment will become effective from September 1, 2023. His tweet read: “The committee approved your application as Visiting Adjunct Professor: Wits School of Governance, University of the Witwatersrand, with effect from 1 September 2023 for a period of 3 years until 31 August 2026.”

Tijani was among the 45 out of 48 ministerial nominees selected by the President that were cleared and ratified by the Senate this week.

He hails from Ogun State and is the CEO and co-founder of CcHub. Tijani appeared before the Senate for screening as a minister last Saturday. During the screening, he expressed regret and offered apologies to the senators for a Twitter post from 2021 where he referred to them as “morons.” He acknowledged the importance of respecting elders and apologized to anyone who was offended by his comments.
