Osun Tribunal: Festus Keyamo Reacts As INEC Says Not All Data Was Transmitted When APC Obtained BVAS Server Report

A spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, has reacted to the clarifications provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the controversy surrounding the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) following the decision of the Osun State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

The tribunal ruling on Friday invalidated Ademola Adeleke’s (PDP) election due to over-voting and additional votes for Adegboyega Oyetola (All Progressives Congress), putting him ahead of Adeleke.

Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, a former INEC Director of Voter Education and Publicity, said on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday that there should have been no discrepancy in the 2022 Osun State governorship election.

Osaze-Uzzi explained that the APC obtained a certified copy of the initial server report before the BVAS hardware transmitted some of the data.

Keyamo took to Twitter to react to the clarifications made by INEC.

He wrote on Twitter: Then why did you issue APC a certified copy if all data were not in? APC obtained the BVAS Report AFTER the elections AND DECLARATION of results. This reasoning is a big danger to the sanctity of elections. BVAS data are expected to be received real-time. Nigerians are not fools.
