JUST IN: Buhari Told To Sack EFCC Boss
Over 40 anti-corruption civil society organizations have petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to remove the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, for “incessant disobedience of court orders.”

They noted that the commission had strayed from its mission and had become politicized.

CSOs led by the Chairman of the Centre for Anti-corruption and Open Leadership, Mr Debo Adeniran, held a press conference in Lagos in protest of Bawa’s attitude, saying Bawa had made the EFCC a “institution known for brazenly disobeying court orders in such a manner that not only undermines the institutions of Nigeria’s democracy but also indicates a contradiction to Buhari’s anti-corruption agenda.”
They, therefore, concluded that Bawa must be sacked in order for the commission to “recover its past glory”.
