Children of Excellence Award : Foundation Honors Students For Outstanding Performance 

Awards are meant for deserving individuals. The underlying reason is for exceptional performance and excellence. That was why during the inaugural ceremony of the Mama Atupele Arumhen Edaghese Foundation held on April 10th, 2023, the Converner, Mr Adolphus Arebanmhen Aletor disclosed that the Foundation has put in place a “Children of Excellence” award that shall be issued annually. He clarified that this award will focus on young people who have gone through primary, secondary and tertiary institutions successfully and have distinguished themselves in their course of choice. He also mentioned that this award became necessary because the matriarch, whose sake the Foundation was initiated was a woman of excellence and believed in encouraging children to do well.

The 2023 children of excellence award was given to two young men from Esan South East LGA. One of the award was a post humours award given to the late Barr Martins Isidahomen Ebalu. He attended St. John Boscos College, Ubiaja and Ambrose Alli University to read Law after which he proceeded to the Nigerian Law school where he finished excellently well. He passed on to glory at his residence in Europe two years ago leaving behind his young family. May his soul rest in peace.

The second award went to Adolphus Ovuo (named after the Converner at his birth in 1996), who attended Community Secondary, Ukpaja-Ubiaja before proceeding to University of Nigeria, Nsukka Medical school where he finished well. He has since graduated as a medical doctor, practising and married with children.

The Convener,  Adolphus Arebanmhen Aletor is a strong advocate of human capacity development and encouraged everyone present to focus on the welfare of people around them.

Many people, including the families of the Awardees expressed their appreciation to him and prayed that he replicates this on a larger scale.
