BREAKING: Access Holdings Seals Deal to Buy Standard Chartered Bank Subsidiaries In Four African Countries (DETAILS)
Access Holdings, a financial services group, has entered into agreements with Standard Chartered Bank (StanChart) to acquire StanChart’s subsidiaries in four African markets.
This move represents Access Holdings’ most ambitious effort to expand beyond its home market of Nigeria since its establishment as Access Bank in 1989.
The countries where StanChart’s banking operations are being acquired by Access Holdings include Angola, Cameroon, The Gambia, and Sierra Leone. The acquisition of African Banking Corporation (Tanzania) Limited (BancABC Tanzania) is also part of the deal, with a definitive agreement already in place for this transaction.
