Okotete, a former Executive Director at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank, has taken steps to clarify the allegations regarding her academic credentials.

In a series of documents provided to Channels Television by her legal representatives, Babatunde Ogala and Co, she communicated with various relevant institutions to authenticate her certificates and degrees.

According to the documents, Okotete obtained her degree from Benson Idahosa University in 2007, achieving a second class lower grade in International Studies and Diplomacy. Additionally, she completed her mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kebbi State in 2009.

Further documents submitted to Channels Television displayed her certificates from professional short courses undertaken at institutions like Harvard Kennedy School, among others. These documents also confirmed her Master’s degree from Noun University.

Out of the 48 nominees initially proposed by President Bola Tinubu to the Senate, Okotete is one of the three candidates whose nominations are on hold pending the receipt of a security report.
