In his discourse, General Musa underscored that this approach would be instrumental in tackling contemporary and emerging security threats posed by various criminal elements, including terrorists, bandits, and secessionists, which imperil the nation’s unity.
He emphasized the necessity for the Nigerian Armed Forces to collaborate closely with communities and individuals to confront these adversaries effectively, indicating that the foes must either surrender or brace themselves for total conflict. General Musa also highlighted that safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity against external threats is the primary duty of the armed forces.
The lecture series, tailored for the participants of Senior Course 46 at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, was designed to explore how the nation’s military forces could adopt a multifaceted defence strategy, moving beyond purely kinetic approaches to address security challenges.
General Musa stressed the critical significance of unified military operations and synergy among the three military branches, as well as productive cooperation with the civilian population, as pivotal elements in implementing a sustainable action plan.
Assuring the Nigerian populace that criminal elements would no longer hold any part of the country, General Musa pledged that all future military operations would be conducted in collaboration with all sectors of society, including citizens. He expressed confidence that the current security challenges can be overcome, as the armed forces are prepared and committed to achieving success as a cohesive team.
