Tinubu underscored the imperative of private sector backing for ensuring sustained growth and prosperity during an Iftar session with members of the Nigerian business community at the State House in Abuja.

In a statement relayed by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu conveyed appreciation to the business community for their backing and pledged to enhance engagement with them on a more regular basis.

He remarked, “I would have convened this meeting earlier, not during Ramadan, because you constitute a crucial segment of my constituency.
“The private sector stands as the primary engine of economic advancement. Without its flourishing, there can be no progression, prosperity, employment, or development. No rhetoric, no matter how eloquent, can foster growth without a thriving private sector. Thank you for your resilience. We stand at a pivotal moment in our economy’s trajectory. I don’t need to delve into complex equations to elucidate this. I simply want to express gratitude for your endurance and resilience.”

Drawing from his visit to the New York Stock Exchange in 2023, the president recounted his appeal to investors to regard Nigeria as a premier investment destination.

He underscored Nigeria’s self-assurance and resolve to propel economic metamorphosis from within, affirming Nigeria’s self-reliance and capacity for delivery.

Tinubu reaffirmed his dedication to fulfilling his mandate, stressing that he cannot afford to falter, given the trust vested in him by the electorate.

Tony Elumelu, speaking on behalf of his counterparts, expressed staunch support from the private sector in Nigeria for President Tinubu.

Elumelu commended Tinubu’s transformational efforts aimed at revitalizing the economy and businesses, asserting that they align with the country’s needs.

He stated, “We commend your endeavors. We understand the road ahead may be challenging, but with determination, we will reach our destination.
“We admire your resoluteness, and we value your efforts. Your commitment to steering Nigeria towards its promised destination is palpable.
