Dike lamented the loss of such a prominent leader from the party, describing it as unfortunate, especially considering Ihedioha’s role as one of the founding fathers and financiers of the PDP. He likened the situation to a “rotating fan,” suggesting the inevitable changes in political dynamics.

Despite the setback, Dike remained optimistic about the resilience and future growth of the party. He acknowledged Ihedioha’s decision to resign but assured that the PDP would continue to thrive, with the potential influx of more than 2,000 politicians into the party in the near future.

In his resignation letter addressed to the Chairman of the PDP Mbutu Ward in Mbaise Local Government Area, Ihedioha cited discrepancies between his personal beliefs and the party’s current trajectory. He expressed regret over the party’s inability to carry out internal reforms, enforce its own rules, or provide credible opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
