A recent report from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has highlighted the states with the most and least expensive Okada rides for a single trip as of May 2024.

Here are the 10 states with the highest costs for Okada rides:

1. Lagos – N850
2. Ondo – N700
3. Imo – N650
4. Taraba – N650
5. Delta – N630
6. Yobe – N620
7. Rivers – N600
8. Cross River – N590
9. Abuja – N550
10. Kaduna – N550

Conversely, these are the 10 states where Okada rides are the cheapest:

1. Bayelsa – N285
2. Anambra – N300
3. Niger – N300
4. Edo – N315
5. Ekiti – N340
6. Katsina – N350
7. Osun – N350
8. Sokoto – N350
9. Adamawa – N400

In related news, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is preparing to implement stricter measures regarding commercial motorcycles, also known as Okada, and open grazing in Abuja. During a tour of ongoing projects in the FCT last year, Wike announced plans to ban Okada operations once a more efficient transportation system is established.
