Defamation Drama Heats Up: Farotimi Vows My Guns Are Primed For War

Dele Farotimi, a human rights activist, has expressed unwavering determination in his ongoing defamation lawsuit. Recently, a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti granted Farotimi a ₦30 million bail after his arrest for allegedly defaming Afe Babalola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and founder of Afe Babalola University (ABUAD). Farotimi was released upon meeting the bail conditions.

In a post on his X account, Farotimi declared he was ready for the next round of battle, stating his “battle axes are newly sharpened” and “guns primed.” Despite the challenges, he proclaimed his strength to confront even the most formidable adversaries while expressing gratitude to God and those who supported him.

He wrote, “I am strong enough to rumble against principalities and powers, but I am also human enough to shed tears of joy in appreciation of God’s grace, shown through the help of fellow victims.”

Farotimi added that he was not discouraged by the first round of the fight, claiming that those responsible for his imprisonment had already lost. He vowed to continue fighting with renewed resolve.

This ongoing case has sparked widespread debate across the country, drawing a sharp division in opinions about the defamation allegations.
