A statement by the 17 Brigade Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Lawal Abubakar, shared with PUNCH Online on Thursday, highlighted Omopariola’s commitment to enhancing the medical welfare of troops and their families.

During the ceremony, Omopariola emphasized the importance of the new sports facilities in promoting physical fitness and creating a conducive environment for troops and residents to perform their duties effectively.

He urged users to maintain the facilities to ensure their longevity, stating that their proper use would encourage the development of additional welfare projects within the cantonment.

The newly commissioned facilities include a five-a-side football pitch, lawn tennis court, volleyball court, squash court, badminton court, and Dental X-ray equipment.

Highlights of the event included the cutting of commissioning tapes and a tour of the facilities by the Commander and Principal Staff Officers of the 17 Brigade.
