Cross River PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate Resigns From Party

Dr. Emana Ambrose-Amawhe, the deputy governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections in Cross River State, has formally resigned from the party.

She expressed that the decision was not made lightly, but reaffirmed her commitment to serving Cross River State and Nigeria in other roles. “I am writing to officially resign my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect,” Ambrose-Amawhe stated.

While acknowledging the privilege of serving as the party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate and contributing to its growth, Ambrose-Amawhe noted that, after much reflection on the current situation within the party, she felt it was time to move forward.

She emphasized, “This decision was not made lightly, but I remain dedicated to serving my community and contributing to the development of our state and nation in other capacities.”

Ambrose-Amawhe was the running mate to Senator Sandy Onor in the 2023 governorship election and had also contested for the House of Representatives seat for the Bakassi/Akpabuyo/Calabar South Federal Constituency under the PDP.
