We Will Expose You! – Labour Party Vows Legal Action Over Violent Secretariat Assault
The Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State has called on President Bola Tinubu and the Department of State Services (DSS) to launch a thorough investigation into the recent attack on its secretariat………READ MORE
At a press conference on Tuesday, Lagos LP Chairperson, Dayo Ekong, condemned the attack as a “heinous crime against the state.” The assault occurred on Monday, while party leaders were attending the National Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
Ekong accused Rasheed Bamishe and armed thugs of orchestrating the attack, storming the secretariat located at 59 Oduduwa Way, GRA Ikeja.
She urged President Tinubu, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, and the State Security Service to take immediate action. Ekong further alleged that influential figures within the party had backed the attack, and vowed to expose those behind the plot in due course.
The attackers reportedly used dangerous weapons, charms, and other fetish items to vandalize offices, destroy property, and loot valuables, including both local and foreign currencies. Ekong confirmed that five staff members were injured during the attack and are currently receiving medical treatment.
Labeling the incident as “criminal vandalism and armed robbery disguised as politics,” Ekong vowed that the Labour Party in Lagos would pursue all legal avenues to ensure that the perpetrators and their backers face justice, regardless of their position.
