Three Boys Brigade Members Die In Gombe Road Crash

A tragic accident along the Gombe–Billiri Road on Tuesday has claimed the lives of three members of the Boys Brigade Nigeria, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Gombe State has confirmed.

The victims were reportedly travelling to Tal in Billiri Local Government Area to attend the funeral of a fellow Boys Brigade member and his daughter, who both died earlier in another crash at Rainbow Roundabout.

Speaking on Wednesday, the FRSC State Public Relations Officer, Janet Kassa, confirmed the incident, noting, “Preliminary investigation suggests tyre issues.” She added that further details would be communicated as the investigation progresses.

Condolences Pour In

Reacting to the incident, outgoing Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Gombe Branch, Benjamin Sati, expressed deep sorrow over the loss. In a condolence statement, Sati extended sympathies to the families of the deceased, the Boys Brigade Nigeria Gombe State Council, and the government and people of Gombe State.

“The Nigerian Bar Association Gombe Branch commiserates with the Boys Brigade Nigeria, particularly the President of BBN Gombe State, Chief Caleb Ubale Esq., the families of the deceased, and injured members involved in the tragic road crash,” the statement read.

Sati also offered prayers for the quick recovery of the injured and for strength to the bereaved. “We pray for comfort for the families of those who lost their lives and for God’s perfect healing upon the injured. Take this as the doing of the Lord and be grateful notwithstanding,” he added.
